Baby Girls hair project

The back of my youngest daughters head, the nape mind you, is a hot mess and I need to do something quick. So I ordered some more Bee Mine because for one it works so great in her hair and second, her hair just does not respond well to so many other products, but I can tell you it loves water and grease just sayin so don't judge me.
I kid you not her hair looks worse on the picture than it really is but it does need some help. One thing I know is she itches and scratches back there alot so I need to find something for that. I also ordered Dejas Hair Milk to help soften up her edges and hopefully it will help the back too. I know it will take some time but I am sure it will grow back out. Wish me luck!!

Measures my hair

Another snow day from work.....the sun is shining and everything is melting.  Unfortunately, we have some back road bus routes and for the safety of children no bussing, and if they can't go to school neither can the rest of the county...go figure.  And supposedly if the weather man is right we will be off again on Monday if we get more snow.
But anyways, I thought I would do length check of my hair and see where I am at.
 Front= 8in
Sides= 8in (my hair grows slow there, also dealing with this sides)
Tip Top= 9in, not surprised, always grows the longest, I think that is with everyone.
Back= 8.5in, grows fast there too.

As my challenge to myself I am going to continue my growth retention/challenge until the summer, I will not be doing another measurement until then, I know it has been a few months since I did a lenght check.  I need to go back and find the last one cause that's not something I was really keeping up with, life is way too busy for that.

Todays Hair.  Have a great day.

Two years all natural

Already, alrighty it has been exactly two years since I cut my relaxer out of my hair.  Yeah baby, and I am not looking back.   The journey has not been exactly great but I am not complaining.  I can say where I am at that point where I can say I am natural...so what.  I am not looking for a Holy Grail product, I just buy what I already know works and stick with it, if my hair does not like it, I try it on children's hair, if their hair does not like it I give it away and make sure not to buy it again "just to see".  In all I wouldn't change where I am for nothing.  Of course, I have pics.

From here...two years ago...

to this a year ago...

to this a few months ago...

to this, on Friday.  My hair was
flat ironed by moi...I turned out great.

It has definitely gotten thicker.

Since I am on Christmas Break from work I decided to do something different with my hair, I am finishing up a vid on how I achieved this look.  I roller set every night and comb out in the morning.  This will last two weeks, counting from Friday, the week we go back to school I will be bunning it of course just a lot less maintenance for me in the mornings.  Stay tuned for the video.

Big Girl's picture hair

My Big Girl took pictures today and boy was her hair cute.  She had a fresh washing on Tuesday and blowdried then put back into frenchbraids to the back. Last night I flat ironed and used my Instyler to give her a shiney finish.  I used the same routine that I did for mine, results were great.  This will last for a while but she will not be wearing it down, after it gets washed out in a few weeks it will be getting braided back up.  Check out her length.

After flatiron

She thought she was tooo cute, and she was!!!

Wash day and Newly Found Hair Products

Today is wash day! Today is wash day!  I made it a whole week with my twisted pinned up hairstyle.  I decided for the next several weeks, until May 21 to be exact (Summer break and no worky begins), I will be wearing it twisted and pinned up like the style I wore here.  Two main reasons: one is out of necessity, getting up in the morning is hard for a sistah seriously, so not having to do my hair in the a.m. helps alot. The second is I decided to try another challenge with A Grl Can Mac, check it out to see what I am talking about.  If you did check it out, I don't want my hair that long, maybe just mid back.  So today it officially begins, I will be shampooing, conditioning, and deep conditioning my twists ( cause I am not taking them out) and then retwisting my hair today, the hair style will not change much except for maybe a few flat twists that may be put across the front.

Now to the new products.  I love Ross and the other day I was in there and ran across some shampoo and conditioner called Amenta Aromatherapy.  Now, I have googled this product and found that it is hard to find on the web mainly because there is no specific site but what I did find from searching is that I got it for a GREAT price, only $4.99 for a huge 32oz. Ross is the bomb diggity!  I bought the Rosemary Mint Conditioning Hair Rinse for normal to dry hair, it does smell great and I can't wait to try.  But it will have to wait til later on because I am about to take my daughter's skating and get my toes trampled on once again.  I will be posting a video product review soon, like before the weekend is over, to tell the results so keep an eye open.  Another product I found at Ross was Nexxus Designing Texxtur High Fashion Creme and I only paid $2.99 for it.  Yeah I said wow too.  Never heard of it before but heck for that price I couldn't pass it up, I will be trying it out on my daughters hair since she is getting a nice wash today too.  I will be telling more about these products in the video so stay tuned...

Oh, and here are some pictures of my hair growth

Yesterdays Hair

So this is yesterdays and the day before hair, and I think also two weeks ago in the purple shirt. Isn't it cute? Check out my little coils on the sides, gotta have those.

These are just a collage of the twist outs I have been wearing for the past few weeks and I am loving them. This style gives me so much more different types of ways to wear my hair: pinned up on one side, or both to sport a fro hawk, or pulled back and sporting a headband (my fav).
I keep this style going for a week by retwisting with a special hair mixture I made that keeps me hair super moisturized. I noticed that after I washed the other day and detangled I had little to no hair shedding, unbelievable! The pics in the green turtleneck are of washed hair so it is a little shorter but as the week goes by it gets bigger. This style is great for the cold winter days because I am not wetting my hair in the mornings, the bad thing is I can't put a hat on it. I'll figure out something.
And stay tuned for my Happy Birthday Hair video, the countdown is going on. December 27!!!!!

Just A Quick Pic.

Here is a picture I took on Saturday, this is freshly washed hair about 100% dry. This style is done using the same technique in the TWA refreshing video. I love they way it is growing and getting thicker by the day. I only have one issue, my hair is growing quick but the sides are growing slower than the top and the back and I don't know what to do about that, any suggestions? I'm open.

Pictures of hair growth results

I was going to wait to post this but I am just too excited. After several weeks of my protective hair challenge of two strand twists and my shea butter mixture, some results are in. I just took my twists out Friday and have been wearing a twist out, well tonight I washed it and decided to measure the hair growth and I am so happy and surprised. Check out the pictures of before and after. I forgot to take the picture before I did my hair, excuse the hair styling, just a little something to hold me for a few days, I will be putting twists back in on Sunday.
