My Morning Routinee

I did two things this morning, I washed my daughters hair and mine. I decided to try the yogurt and coconut conditioner on my three year olds hair, I worked the conditioner into her hair and let it set under a plastic shower cap for about 50 min, then I rinsed, shampooed, and applied the Cantu Shea Butter Leave IN Conditioner. I did see a difference in her hair, her curls were so much more softer than what they usually are than when I wash normally. After I finished I was able to pull a wide tooth comb through it which I normally can't do. There are some skeptics but it did help soften Hannah's (that's her name) hair and that helped me alot. The second thing I did was clarify my hair with 1 tblsp baking soda and 3 tbls pconditioner and rinse with 1 tblsp apple cider vinegar mixed in 1 cup of warm water. OMG! I love the way my hair felt afterwards, it was soooo soft, since I have been natural my hair has never felt so soft after a wash, I am deep conditioning right now so I can't wait to see the end result after I apply my products, today I also decided to use the leave in conditioner to my hair as well and see how I like it along with my IC Styling gel. Happy Happy JOY JOY! Now I just need to find out how often I need to use the baking soda and ACV so I don't to overboard. By the way, yesterday marked my two month anniversary of my BC. Until next time.......

Homemade curly pudding

So I used a homemade curly pudding recipe that I got from one of the blogs that I am following, AGRLCNMAC. I really liked the end result, it wasn't hard and I did not have any product build up on my fingers, you know like using gel and when you rub your fingers together and all that brown stuff is on them. I did two strand stwists on Tuesday night and I am still rocking the twist out, I re-twisted every night of course. I will wash my hair in the morning because it is deep conditioning time, this is the longest I have ever gone without washing my hair. I just found a recipe for homemade buttercreme and that is going to be my next experiment, maybe next weekend. Tomorrow I have to wash my youngests hair, super curly and poofy, I found a homemade conditioner that I am going to try in her hair for moisture, she needs lots of that, I will let you know how that turns out, it can't hurt it. I will post a pic tomorrow of my twist out.

So here are the main hair products I use in my hair at the moment. The two tall bottles in the back are by Someting Special Peppermint Shampoo and Conditioner, if you want your hair to tingle then that is it, they are also good for dandruff. Under the shampoo is of course the IC Styling Gel, yes I like that because it does define my curls better, the only downfall is that it dries alittle hard other than that I won't toss it. Garnier Fructis is on the side, love it, I only use it when I cowash throughout the week which is about twice a week. The yellow container has my whipped Shea Butter that I make, its just pure shea butter and I add some Elasta QP hair oil and blend it with an electric hand blender and voila, I use this just about everynight and sleep in a satin cap. It definitely helps with softness and moisture. Elasta QP Shampoo and Conditioner are also a must I love the way they smell, the conditioner smells like banana and leaves my hair so soft, I mix it with my Hawaiian Silky Dry Hair Conditiner which is not in the pic because I was out just bought some today. I mix them together when I deep condition on Saturdays, they work well together. Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner is nice the jar is still full cause I dont use it often but I need to because of the weather here right now, it is cold and windy. Yes I have Miss Jessie's products, I do like the Curly Meringue, it does the same thing the IC Gel does except it leaves my hair softer after it dries, I used it before I went to church today and had to keep my hands out my hair. There is not much I can say about the Stretch Silkening Creme, also my Curly Buttercreme is not in the picture sometimes I use it like the Shea Butter, it has peppermint in it too. Last but not least ther is my wide tooth haircomb for my cowash, and if you want to know the truth I only detangle maybe once a week if that much. I love for my natural curl form to show so most of the time I don't detangle, but tonight I did because it has been a while. I know I have a few products I sure not more than some, and I use them all at certain times. I just bought some ACV and baking soda so next time I wash I will use them and see how it works and I also want to try the yogurt conditioner on my hair and my daughters hair Lord knows their cury hair needs moisture. I told my husband that I was gong to try some natural recipes and see how they work, so hopefully next time I will have an update on hair and natural products. Until then........

Good to go

I am contemplating getting comb twists in my hair, I am scared though. Really just nervous about how my hair will look. Yes I am scared of looking like a dude. I expressed this to my husband cause he knows how I am. I will spend $60 on the hairstyle and end up not liking it, I know me. So this weekend I am going to experiment with a style hopefully it is cute so that I can wear it for at least two weeks. I am going to give myself a challenge I will be trying styles everytwo weeks so as not to keep putting my hands in my hair. My sister has dreds and she keeps them braided up so maybe I will braid or twist my hair up and see what that looks like. Yes I know how to do hair, been doing hair and braids since the seventh grade. I will post my new superduper hair style as soon as it is finished. Now my only other objective is to find a good styling hair product that will work excellent. Until then.....

Hey there, been gone for a while between work, work school, and my externship I have been truly busy. On top of that I just finished an 8 page term paper I have been working on for three weeks. Anywho, I tried a new product on Sunday that I have been meaning to try for a while. The IC Fantasia Styling Gel rocks. I think that is one I will add to my fav list. I really liked the way it enhanced my curls. Even my husband noticed. It didnt weight it down or make it frizzy, I washed it and applied the gel while it was wet and also sprayed it alittle with the Hawaiin Silky moisturizer and sheen and was good to go. My co workers even noticed I had more curls. I would give this product 4 thumbs up if I had four thumbs. I will take pics and post them asap (sometime this weekend).
