Back to my first love...not hair

So instead of fooling around in my hair on yesterday like I planned since we were stuck in the house all day on account of the storms, I decided to go back to my first love...SEWING!  I whipped out my sewing machine and got out some material I had been needing to work on.  In March the girls picked out some material they wanted for me to make them a pillowcase dress and I bought some coordinating ribbon and viola, check out the picture below.  Baby Girl is frowning for no reason, she is not very photogenic, LOL.  My Big Girl on the other hand is just like her mother.  I thought these were so cute and just had to make them, I plan on making more for them to wear this summer with some matching leggings and sandals.  We are so girly, I can't stand it.  Don't they look cute though?  I will post more when I find the time to make them.

A Bored Kinky Lady

I am home and stuck in the house on this rain, stormy, tornadoy day.  On top of that my truck is in the shop and hubby is at work with the car.  The only thing I can do is sit back and watch back to back reruns of Good Times :)  I think I feel a hair experiment coming on, I am feeling creative.  Be back later to show what I come up with.

All good things must come to an end...

What a great weekend!  It ended with a trip to the Crawfish Festival with the family.  Them crawfish were so good!!! This is a yearly fund raiser her in Memphis and there are a thousand and one people there eating, drinking, dancing and having a good time.  For $15 you get a bucket of crawfish- find you a seat and enjoy. And I can't leave out the great funnel cakes that we finally got after waiting in a long line.
Other than that I feel like I got a lot accomplished, Saturday I took the girls skating and shopping for some spring/summer clothes cause my oldest has legs up to her ears, I did pretty good too hit Old Navy up for shirts that I only paid $1.97 for.  Then it was on to Ross.
I didn't get a chance to wash my hair though, I am two days in to a twist out that is going awry and into a puff until tomorrow when I can hopefully get it done then.   But I might as well knock between dropping off at ballet practice and picking up it will be 7:30 before I settle down.
Oh well, I leave you with some festival pictures, sorry no actual pictures of the crawfish.

My Best Twist Out Ever and Jessicurl

I know I was supposed to keep my twists in for the whole week, but the weather was so nice here that I had to do it, I had to take them down.  I had the best twist out ever, with definition and everything.
The results are like Magic!  I really like the Jessicurl, I think out of all of the products I have (courtesy of Newlynatural) this is the best.  Everyone knows I love big hair and this just gave me the go ahead, not to mention all the compliments I have been getting and getting the "Big Head" with it. Hopefully it can last a little while longer, the big Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival will be here on Sunday and I would love to rock this look down on the river while I eat my mud-bugs. Anyways, enjoy the picture.

Products used: My very own shea butter

Wash day and Newly Found Hair Products

Today is wash day! Today is wash day!  I made it a whole week with my twisted pinned up hairstyle.  I decided for the next several weeks, until May 21 to be exact (Summer break and no worky begins), I will be wearing it twisted and pinned up like the style I wore here.  Two main reasons: one is out of necessity, getting up in the morning is hard for a sistah seriously, so not having to do my hair in the a.m. helps alot. The second is I decided to try another challenge with A Grl Can Mac, check it out to see what I am talking about.  If you did check it out, I don't want my hair that long, maybe just mid back.  So today it officially begins, I will be shampooing, conditioning, and deep conditioning my twists ( cause I am not taking them out) and then retwisting my hair today, the hair style will not change much except for maybe a few flat twists that may be put across the front.

Now to the new products.  I love Ross and the other day I was in there and ran across some shampoo and conditioner called Amenta Aromatherapy.  Now, I have googled this product and found that it is hard to find on the web mainly because there is no specific site but what I did find from searching is that I got it for a GREAT price, only $4.99 for a huge 32oz. Ross is the bomb diggity!  I bought the Rosemary Mint Conditioning Hair Rinse for normal to dry hair, it does smell great and I can't wait to try.  But it will have to wait til later on because I am about to take my daughter's skating and get my toes trampled on once again.  I will be posting a video product review soon, like before the weekend is over, to tell the results so keep an eye open.  Another product I found at Ross was Nexxus Designing Texxtur High Fashion Creme and I only paid $2.99 for it.  Yeah I said wow too.  Never heard of it before but heck for that price I couldn't pass it up, I will be trying it out on my daughters hair since she is getting a nice wash today too.  I will be telling more about these products in the video so stay tuned...

Oh, and here are some pictures of my hair growth
