Two years all natural
Already, alrighty it has been exactly two years since I cut my relaxer out of my hair. Yeah baby, and I am not looking back. The journey has not been exactly great but I am not complaining. I can say where I am at that point where I can say I am natural...so what. I am not looking for a Holy Grail product, I just buy what I already know works and stick with it, if my hair does not like it, I try it on children's hair, if their hair does not like it I give it away and make sure not to buy it again "just to see". In all I wouldn't change where I am for nothing. Of course, I have pics.
From here...two years ago...
to this a year ago...
to this a few months ago...
to this, on Friday. My hair was
flat ironed by moi...I turned out great.
It has definitely gotten thicker.
Since I am on Christmas Break from work I decided to do something different with my hair, I am finishing up a vid on how I achieved this look. I roller set every night and comb out in the morning. This will last two weeks, counting from Friday, the week we go back to school I will be bunning it of course just a lot less maintenance for me in the mornings. Stay tuned for the video.

Twist Go Bye Bye
I went on and took my twists out this morning, I was sitting reading my Kindle and though hmmm hands free might as well get to workin, so I did. Unfornately it did not get washed cause I was just busy. Had to take Baby Girl to the doctor cause she has been running a fever since Sunday, turned out to be a virus that just has to run its course, then when I got home I was mad at hubby just cause he bought the wrong iron (I was just in one of my moods, don't judge me) so I stayed in the craft room making things. I decided it will get done before Saturday though. Still waiting for my Bee Mine to come in, I am going to give it a try since my Big Girl has micro twists she won't get a wash for a couple more weeks. Enjoy a few pics.
Picture of untwisted hair, Baby Girl wanted
to take pictures in doctors office.
My sick baby knocked out 5 min after leaving doc.
Her sick :(
And the necklace I worked on while I was mad.
Ain't it purdy.

Itching to get in my hair
I hope everyones week is off to a great start, mine is so far two days of shopping means not being able to get twists out yet. I want to take these twists out to bad it hurts. Since I am off work for these next two weeks it is still so convenient to leave them in and just go about my day but lawd my roots are looking a mess and I know I am in need of a DC it ain't even funny. I could wash my hair with the twists in but that is not a good idea for my hair type and would be a hassle to take down. It is Tuesday night so I am hoping to have them out by at least Thursday night but with all this running around trying to get last minute shopping done and dentist appointments in it may be a lost cause, if all fails I hope to have hair nicely styled by Sunday. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do, my husband has finally given me "permission" to get a wig (even though I would have gotten one without his consent) cause he thinks he is running thangs, LOL. Gotta love him. Any whoooo, I plan on getting a lot of crafting done this next week also some as gifts and maybe some as give aways so stay tuned.

Birthday time
Today is my Big Girls birthday, she is 8 years old today and loving it even though she has a fever and slept all through church service. Maybe I will make her a cake, she has a sweet tooth like her mommy, that should make her feel better. Her journey into this world lasted 20 hours and as bad as that sounds, it was truly great, by the book labor and delivery. She's so cute.

Look What I Did...
Hey there blogging world, Look what I did...
I have twisted and prepared my hair for the cold weather. It is starting to get a little chilly here in the M-Town and I needed to be able to put on a hat when I needed, so a protective style I went to.
I stretched out my hair and to twist I uses Curls Curly Q Custard which gave me great results, my twists weren't stringy, the custard made them nice and plump.

Also check out my sewing skills...
This was a pair of great trouser jean pants that were for some reason getting a little too short for me (I am 5'9") so I said what the hey let me turn them into a skirt, check it out.
it's made just like a denim skirt, with
more A-line to it.
it also has the v-cut pattern in the
front and the back.
This is the second skirt I made out of pants,
my daughter has one out of a pair of
corduroy pants that were too small.
I am not making a red pair for my niece. That one will be posted on craft blog.

Loreal Sulfate Free Moisturizing Shampoo
Tonight I washed my newly colored hair using the new Loreal Sulfate free shampoo...
I am being good and using the right shampoo on my hair, you know the one for "color treated" hair that I used every once in a while the last time. I decided I wanted to try this on my hair, seeing that she does not like sulfate, my hair gets very rough after a shampoo. Now that I think about it I still have a huge bottle of Tresemme Naturals under my sink that she does not like, been trying to give that sucker away.
This Loreal is a keeper, it really reminded me of my Shea Moisture Retention shampoo I use now, my hair was left so soft and still felt moisturized after being rinsed. I did not get the conditioner cause I used what came in the box with the hair dye which is a great two minute conditioner before I DC'ed, I may buy it next time though just to try it out.
In all, I feel like this is going to be a good shampoo to go to for me.
For first time use I give it a 5.

Have a shea butter day!
I got busy with some shea butter and coconut oil this morning cause I am addicted to it plus I was out.
Top left: coconut oil and jojoba oil mixture
Top right: whipped shea butter mixed with oils
Bottom middle: creamy shea butter mixed with oils
The coconut oil is especially for my Baby Girls hair, I apply it every night and braid it up, it leaves her hair so soft and manageable which is a definitely plus for me. One thing I need to make is some more of my Twist and Shout Gelly, that stuff was the bomb.
Also, I work with alot of ladies so I decided I would make a variety of scented shea butter for them for Christmas gifts, I think they will like it.

(Last ) Weekend hair and stuff
Last weekend was so busy that I did not get to post what I did to my hair, which was alot.
I also bought Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioning Milk, I used it as a leave in a on top of my coconut oil and castor oil mix, man that layer rocks together, my hair loved it (I seriously think that is why my hair is so soft) I used the conditioning milk twice more this week during my nightly retwisting. If you have not found Shea Moisture it is a must try the three products I use so far are great.
Getting right to it...
I colored it...
...compared to this red, it is gone.
I used Clairol Natural Instincts 21G Caramel Creme and I have to say I was not going to color it just cut the red off, but I know good and well I was not cutting so the next thing was to color and I love how the results turned out. The dye brand was great my hair was so soft after my deep conditioning session under the dryer (not that it was dry before) and it is still rocking that softness today as I type. I haven't washed it since, but that will be happening maybe next Tuesday night before Thanksgiving, I am looking for a good color shampoo, thinking about trying Loreal Sulfate Free shampoo for color treated hair.

Now I must vent:
I am so loving my hair and how it is growing and maturing, I am not concerned with length cause I got it you just can't see it. I love my hair and all it's glory and love wearing it big and wild and I think it likes to be, during the day it seems to grow a little more until at the end of the day it looks like this...
I love my hair. She may look rough on these pics
but it was so soft with lots of movement.
She even got a compliment tonight.

Shea Moisture and Quemet Biologics Review
I have fallen in love with Shea Moisture's Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo, I used it for a second tome this weekend and got the same effect, soft curls without that stripped feeling that most shampoo leaves your hair feeling after rinsing. I was able to run my fingers through during and afterward. Amazing! My best girlfriend gave this to me a few weeks ago after she went back to the creamy crack, yes she did, her husband could not get used to her hair after a year and she relaxed it back...that's another story, just like a man. Relate, relax, and release! Anywho, I am so glad she gave it to me, I used it two weeks ago and thought maybe the results were a coincidence. Well I used it for a second time on this Saturday and got the same results, wow. I think I have found my new shampoo.
Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo
Ingredients: Contains de-ionized water, Decyl Glucoside (sugar beets), African Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter) (denotes certified organic ingredients), aloe vera leaf juice, Argan Oil, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B-5, rosemary extract, sea kelp extract, vitamin E, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract.
What it does: Hydrates, smoothes, and repairs strands, leaving hair manageably soft.
Other ingredients: Sea kelp-trace minerals detoxify hair follicles of impurities and residue.
Argan Oil-restore shine and elasticity.
Shea Butter-deeply moisturizes and repairs damage to hair and scalp.
I definitely give this product two thumbs up!!!
Now on to Quemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream
I heart this soooo much it's ridiculous, this left my hair so super soft the past week when wearing my twist out, I hated to wash my hair. The consistency reminded me of Afroveda Totally Twisted Ginger Almond Butter the only difference is the smell, I'm just not to fond of the smell of the Almond Butter it triggered my allergies something awful. The Burdock Root barely has a smell and I like that.
Quemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream
Product Description
Our Burdock Root Butter Cream is a light, water based leave-in for fine haired naturals, straight styles and those looking for a light penetrating moisturizer. It conditions and softens while nourishing the scalp. Leaves hair healthy, soft and supple!
Key Ingredients: Contains Pure Mediterranean Olive Oil for softness and emollience, extracts of Burdock Root, Nettle Leaf, Oatstraw and Wheat for their conditioning, scalp nourishing, shine enhancing and hair growth properties. Vegetable glycerin for its humectancy and MSM sulfur for nourishment and healthy hair growth.
Directions: Rub a moderate amount between palms and evenly distribute through wet, damp or dry hair. Leave-in and style. Use alone or in combination with any of the Qhemet Biologics leave-ins.
I give this product two thumbs up cause that's all the thumbs I got, if I had more they would go up too.
Unfortunately, my after almost two weeks my little sample size is completely gone I used the last bit tonight, but you know I will be putting in another order for the big size ASAP!
Hope you enjoyed, until next time, holla.

Twist and Curl Friday
Last night I did a twist and curl on my hair, I used my Pure Silk foaming wrap lotion (loved it when relaxed) and a little Burdock Root Butter Cream to twist and then wrap it around itself. I think it turned out pretty cute, it's just pinned up in the front, one of my coworkers told me she liked my hair better HERE but she still liked this one too. Tonight my hair will be getting washed after two weeks, I am sad though because I stopped my my local India Mart to pick up some Amla and they were out and no Henna either...man I was ready to do my treatment too.
My hair is sooo super soft that I hate to wash it.

Chunky twist out
My chunky twist out is a result of needing a hair wash but no time to give it the spa treatment it deserves so I have been putting in chunky twists since Friday. Products used: my oil mixture and Burdock Root Butter Cream by Quemet Bioligics. I just orderd a sample size to try but I think I like it, I haven't tried it on clean hair yet, but if it works great so for I can't wait. It's getting bigger every day.
I am in love with the results.

My custom necklace
I was finally able to get my pictures uploaded, for some reason the new photo upload tool was taking tooo long to do it's job. Ribbon, a few chains, and some cute material turned into a flower. Super simple.
check out the matching earrings
I love this necklace, the flower
is interchangeable
End of the week hair
It's the end of the week and my twist outs were great all week, still using Shea Moisture Conditioning Milk and coconut shea butter. Needless to say it is about to be over...on Sunday. No hair washing today giving myself a break, last Saturday I washed my hair and my daughters hair and gave them a protective style that will hopefully last another two weeks before all the rubberbands pop. I wish my Baby Girl would sleep with a scarf but it irritates hair her nape something awful so her hair usually doesn't last as long.
Also I won't be doing my Amla/black tea treatment that I am loving, it will just get a regular cowash on Sunday and twisted back up. I really can't stress how much I can tell the difference in my hair, no hair fall at all, hmmm, there is something going on here!! Next weekend I will definitely be doing a henna and amla mix I promise. Until then check out a few pictures of our hair.
