Addicted to potatoes

My name is Abeni and I'm a potato-holic, LOL!  I love potatoes and all the they can make especially french fries, I love me some fries.  I don't care where they come from as long as they are fresh, hot, and crispy.  When ever we go out to eat and if my order comes with fries I eat all the fries first and then the meal, and don't let us stop at a fast food place I am eating the fries out the bag before we get home, hubby tells me to make sure I'm eating out of my own and not his (I steal his without him knowing).

The best thing ever invented are the microwave french fries by Ore Ida, I think the person who came up with this loves french fries as much as I do and wanted to be able to get to them quick.  I love it!!
These baby's cook in 4 minutes and come out crispy and good to go, I wish I had thought of that.  Seriously, if you love fries you will surely love these and the price, I only paid 88cents, can't beat that with a ten foot pole.
Anywho, just wanted to get that out, now back to lunch and my fries.

Coconut milk Deep conditioner

Last week I did a coconut milk deep conditioner in my hair, actually it was Thursday, the results turned great.  I know some people use it, or try to, to help relax their curls but I was doing it just for the conditioning effects.  I mixed half a can of coconut milk(Thai coconut milk, you can use what you want) and mixed it with some honey, and the rest of my Giovanni Direct Deep Conditioner and let sit in my hair for about 1and half hours then rinsed.
I put my turbin in (that I got
from the $1 store) and cleaned
my house until it was time to rinse.
Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the results but let me tell you my hair was so soft, I know this will be part of my back to school regimen, stay tuned for that post coming soon.

I finally tried a styl,...just right for St. Louis

Yes, I finally did an updo on my hair, aren't you proud of me?  I know, I am too. I got this cute style from wwestNDNbeautyy on youtube and thought I would give it a try, I was supposed to be doing my micros but got sooo busy that I did not have a chance to put them in and since we were going out of town the next day I needed something quick.
I think it turned out cute, this is after I blew my hair out, this may get put into my hairstyle profile book( not a real book, just in my mind) I even used my homemade Twist and Shout Gel.  The back view is after three days of heat and humidity in St. Louis  with the family this weekend, we took a mini vacation.  We were going to the beach but the oil gave us a change of plans :(
Since the river was super flooded,
we got to put our feet in the Muddy Mississippi
something we don't get to do here in Memphis

The end of the zoo and we were all super duper sweaty.
The girls have had a blast the past two days,
so glad to be at home though.

Homemade whipped aloe ver gelly

I am calling this whipped magic "Twist and Shout Gelly"
 I am in love!!!

Very soft and creamy!!!

In my last post I said I was going to try aloe vera gel to see what kind of results I could get and to see if I could get 2 day hair(which I did) click here to see the vidoe of how that turned out.  After that I was thinking of how my hair loved the aloe vera gel and oil mixture and that I love using my hand blender, so why don't I whip some stuff together and see what I get.
Ingredients: aloe vera gel, a little aloe vera juice, castor oil, a little vatika oil( I use a little in everything), a tad of honey, tea tree oil, and a little of my herbal oil mix.  I then mixed them all together with my hand blender.  This stuff turned out great.
Unfortunately I won't be able to try it out on a twist out because I am going back to my micro twists today but I will be using it to twist my hair so you will get to see the results of thatI will however be doing twists in my daughters hair and she likes wearing her hair out so you will get to see her twist out results soon.
I did take a pic of one twist before washing my hair...
Doesn't leave a film or residue!!!

The Kush Breast Support...say what?

Are you in need of breast support while sleep... no not  a sports bra or any other bra-The Kush.  So while checking out a fellow bloggers blog I went to her link of the day and scrolled down and what did I see was an advertisement for a product for the Kush that gives women of size c-cup or larger support while they sleep...hmmmm.  I think I would, but I don't know if I would benefit from it much cause after nursing two children these babies ain't what they used to be, LOL! Would you use it?  Check it out.

Aloe Vera Gel

I bought some aloe vera gel today!  You know what I like aloe vera gel, especially for my hair, so today I am going to try an experiment.  I have never gotten two day hair out of a twist/braid out before, OMG, I know, what's up with that?  So I'm about to go whip up a little sumthin sumthin and be back with the results.

Straight Hair

I was going through my pictures and realized I never posted pics of my hair straight.  For Mother's Day I got the InStyler (that I asked for) from hubby, that night I straightened my hair, the results were pretty dang good.  My hair stayed straight for a week until I washed it.  I loved this gadget, it straightened my ends better than a flat iron and left my hiar silky, the bad thing is it does not get to the roots so I had to hit those with my mini flat iron.  After it was ironed I tightly rolled it with the curlers and slept in medium perm rods.
My back is growing fast, still waiting for
the front and sides to catch up.

My daughter took this picture of the back
for me that's why it's blurry.
It was definitely cute and curly for the day,
I wore a ponytail for the rest of the week
 to keep it tucked away.

First real bad hair day

Today is the worst hair day ever...my hair is so dry and crunchy, it's been like this for two days that shea butter ain't even helping, what's up with that?  I feel like running to the store and finding some kind of DC, as a matter of fact I think I will be doing that in just a moment cause I can't take this.  I have Zumba in a bit so I won't wash tonight but when I wake in the morning it is on like a pot of neck bones, LOL!

Dillards Jewerly Finds

I went out today with my mommy who is here from Texas and is going home tomorrow (sad face), she loves to shop and so do I so we hit up Dillards to see what we could find.  We didn't find any clothes but we made out pretty good in the jewelry section.  I love jewelry just as much as the next chick and here is what I found, all these pieces were $4.50 each, I have a thing about jewelry that is "different".

Three rings and two pairs of earrings.  The earrings were so cute
I thought I would buy two

This ring is so cute, I was trying
to get a good shot, sorry kind of blurry.

Summertime fun

We bought a pool for the backyard and the girls are enjoying themselves and so are the parents.  Here are a few pictures from the poolside.  I braided the girls hair and now wish I hadn't, but that's alright I will rinse it with conditioner in the morning.

I had my hair pinned up, didn't feel like washing
and dared somebody to splash me :)
My Baby Girl finally learned to float

My Big Girl putting her swimming classes to good use

The girls wanted to have a race with daddy......what?

Protein..Not For Me

Protein conditioner, not for my hair.  I loved it when I was relaxed but goodness not now.  I used the Henna n Placenta DC, my hair was so dry I had to condition it again with my Tresemme Naturals and let it sit for a few minutes, slowly it came back to normal.  Needless to say I won't be doing that again, I love Henna and so does my hair but not that product.

Natural Cuteness: All Braided Up

Thanks to Beads, Braids, & Beyond I gave my girls the cutest braided hairstyles.  She had  a tutorial on and I thought it was the cutest thing for a little girl, so I got to braiding.  On my Big Girl I did hers sideways and since her hair is not as long I pin curled it and secured with pins.  On Baby Girl I I gave her a slant to the side because I don't like for her braids to go straight back, she won't keep the pins in her hair though (she is just not a hair person).  I think it turned out pretty cute, this should last for a few weeks.
The little one finally let me untwist her hair, I had to show her the style she was going to get and get her approval.

Happy 4th and a few updates

So Happy 4th and everything else. Here are a few hairstyle pictures from my weekend including some of my Big Girl, she wore her first twist out, I usually don't let her wear her hair out but she is getting a little older so I thought I would let her get some natural action on Saturday.  My Baby Girl did not want to join the fun, that's just her.  I also modified my Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie, I whipped it with some oils I had and a little gel activator and it came out wonderful.

       My Big Girls Twist Out.
She thought she was too cute!

Me and Big Girl on our way to eat some barbecue

I had a job interview and this is how I wore my hair;
I think it turned out cute.
